Treatment of nail fungus with celandine

Nail fungus is a fairly common disease that does not pose any particular problems to humans at an early stage. However, with the long-term development of pathology, the remnants of pathogenic microflora can lead to serious intoxication of the body. Many quite effective remedies are used to treat the disease, among which celandine is distinguished from toenail fungus.

Properties of celandine

Celandine is a poisonous plant that secretes orange juice when the stem is broken. In folk medicine the herb is used to treat many diseases and is part of various remedies. Given that the plant is considered poisonous, the logical question arises: is it possible to treat nail fungus with celandine?

The herb has no adverse effects on the body in cases where the prescribed dose is observed during the preparation of the medicinal composition. By using celandine against nail fungus, you can quickly inhibit the development of pathogenic microflora. This is due to the fact that the composition of the plant includes the following components:

  • Mineral salts;
  • Alkaloids that suppress the inflammatory process;
  • Vitamins that restore local immunity;
  • Essential oils;
  • Antibiotics;
  • Organic acids;
  • Flavonoids.

It is fashionable to treat the nail fungus with celandine to achieve the following results:

  • Destroy fungal spores;
  • Softens damaged areas of the skin;
  • Relieve inflammation;
  • Eliminate itching and pain;
  • Accelerate the healing of open wounds.

Mountain celandine is considered to be the most effective remedy. However, to cure nail fungus, you can use the plant collected in other areas. Used to treat the disease as follows:

  • Alcohol tincture;
  • Baths;
  • Compress;
  • Decoration;
  • Oils.

The choice of treatment method mainly depends on the patient's preferences. In each case, you can get the same result.

Juice

With nail fungus you can use celandine juice. You should perform the following steps regularly before each treatment session:

  • Warm your fingers in hot water;
  • Remove the fungal infection on the nail plate using a pumice stone or other means.

To prepare the juice, it is necessary to roll all the parts of the plant in a meat grinder: leaves, stems, flowers. The resulting thick should be well crushed. Liquid celandine can be mixed with 70% alcohol in a 1: 1 ratio (the agent is added daily during the day) or used alone.

The resulting solution is applied to the damaged areas of the nail plate 1-2 times a day. Treatment with plant juice lasts for at least three months and ends after complete recovery of the damaged parts of the fingers.

In the warm season it is recommended to use freshly cut celandine juice. The damaged nail should be treated with hydrogen peroxide before applying the medicine.

Butter

Decoction of celandine from toenail fungus

The recipe for making foot mushroom oil includes the following components:

  • 1 liter glass jar with lid;
  • 50 grams of freshly chopped celandine;
  • 100-150 ml of sunflower oil, pre-heated in a water bath, or olive oil.

Celandine oil is made from nail fungus as follows:

  1. The plant is pre-washed under running water. After that, you have to put it on the tray and wait until the grass is completely dry.
  2. Celandine is placed in a glass jar.
  3. The plant is crushed and boiled oil is poured on top.
  4. The bank is located out of reach of the sun. The drug is injected within a month.
  5. At the end of the allotted time, you need to wrap the obtained oil in cottage cheese.

If desired, the drug can be mixed with lemon juice 1-2 drops in the proportion of the latter with two tablespoons of the first. These components soften the plate, making it easier to remove the damaged part. Treatment of nail fungus with celandine oil ends after the nail has healed.

You can use a combination of this tool with 3% vinegar to soften the plate. The proportions in this case are similar when using lemon juice. Obtained by a combination of celandine oil and vinegar, the agent is applied as a compress to the affected areas.

Infusions and decoctions

Celandine-based alcohol tincture is made from freshly cut plant. The grass should be pre-washed and dried from moisture. The plant is then mixed with vodka in a ratio of 2: 1. The tincture is aged for 12 days. Other recipes use a combination of 250 ml of 70% alcohol and 20 drops of celandine oil. The composition is infused for no more than one day.

The tool is recommended to use with extreme caution, as it has a number of contraindications. Initially, you can apply no more than 5 drops of alcohol tincture on the damaged area of the nail plate. In the future, the dose of the drug will be gradually increased to 20 drops. The duration of treatment should not exceed two weeks.

You will also need washed and dried stems and leaves of the plant to make the decoction. Pour all ingredients into a container and pour boiling water so that the water completely covers the celandine. Then wrap the pan or jar with a thick cloth and place in a dark place. The broth should be infused for five days, after which the product should be filtered through a gauze.

To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is recommended to mix olive or vegetable oil in a 1: 1 ratio. This remedy is used 2-3 times a day, and the treatment lasts about two weeks.

To make another decoction, you will also need fresh celandine leaves and stem, previously dried. 5 tablespoons of the plant should be mixed with 6 tablespoons of water. Then put the composition on the fire and boil for a few minutes. After the last stage, the product is mixed with cold water and boiled at room temperature. Apply the decoction on the damaged areas of the nails and it will age for 30 minutes. Antifungal ointments are added to this method of treatment.

Compresses

Therapeutic compresses derived from celandine are mainly used in the later stages of the disease when the fungus damages the deep structures of the nail plate. This tool softens the damaged area, making the therapeutic components easily penetrate deep.

A product obtained by mixing iodinol and pre-shredded dry celandine is used for the compress. The product obtained in this way is poured into a small amount on the damaged nail plate and covered with cellophane. The compress should be stored for more than 20 minutes. Wetting the fingers for 3-4 hours at the end of the procedure is not recommended.

After compression it is recommended to treat the damaged nail plate with anti-fungal ointment. For best effect, it is recommended to perform the procedure at bedtime.

Drawers

Baths are mainly used to prevent the development of fungal infections. To prepare them, you need to perform the following steps:

  • Prepare 5 tablespoons of dried celandine and pour 1, 5 liters of boiling water;
  • The composition is again placed on the stove and boiled for 5 minutes;
  • The product is diluted with cold water.

The duration of each session using the healing baths does not exceed 20 minutes.

For the treatment of pathology, a drug based on alkaline fungus has often been used lately. This tool is sold in many pharmacies and is used to remove various skin defects, including papillomas and corns. The plant itself is not part of the product. The drug is mainly used as an adjunct in the treatment of fungus. It can stop the development of the inflammatory process and partially relieve the itching.
